President Ends Federal Funding for Research That Uses Human Fetal Tissue From Elective Abortions

President Trump has set the abortion lawyers in motion again. At his direction, DHHS will no longer initiate any new contracts for research that uses human fetal tissue from elective abortions.

There are still current federal contracts remaining where aborted baby parts are being used, but this is a substantial step in the right direction. Pro-life groups took notice of the announcement and cheered.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony list, called it “a major pro-life victory and we thank President Trump for taking decisive action.” She correctly noted, “It is outrageous and disgusting that we have been complicit, through our taxpayer dollars, in the experimentation using baby body parts.”

The private market is not prohibited from funding or doing whatever is legal under state or federal law. So, all this whining about science and research is nonsense. There are billions of dollars in venture capital floating around. The Biotech and pharmaceutical industries have insane amounts of cash.

Any project worth the investment will find itself well funded. Anything that could not survive without federal welfare will not. People and resources will naturally gravitate to things with the most promise and private investment, which takes the taxpayers and the politicians out of the loop.

Which won’t hurt medical “science” one bit.
