A few years ago, New Hampshire Firearms Coalition President Alan Rice accused Rick Olson (who currently writes for GraniteGrok) of embezzling funds from the Londonderry Fish and Game Club. There was no proof; it was just a political move to damage Rick to get someone else elected club President.
Someone Alan probably felt he could manipulate?
Alan was eventually relieved of his membership at LFGC. The club chose not to renew it based on the understanding that his membership was not beneficial to the club. It was, in fact, detrimental to the interests of that community. This is not the first time this has happened. Pioneer Sportsman’s Club in Dunbarton, NH, kicked Alan Rice out. He is banned from the property.
NHFC membership should ask itself why someone who is supposed to be a leader in defense of the Second Amendment continues to find himself at odds with the gun community around the state. At odds with his own community?
Rumor has it Rice has recently accused Joy Wheeler, the wife of former Executive Councilor and NHFC founding member Dave Wheeler, of embezzling funds from the NHFC. Sound familiar? The club and the community are being set against each other. It has nothing to do with shooting sports or the second amendment. This all about Alan Rice.
So much so that Rice is reported to have suggested that if NHFC tries to remove him as president, he’ll take the NHFC down with him. I’m not sure how he does that. A coalition is the sum of its members and their mission.
And the NHFC appears to have recognized that.
On Saturday Afternoon the NHFC board suspended Alan Rice. He currently has no functional role with the NHFC. He no longer speaks for them.
Keep that in mind as we expect that Alan Rice will not go quietly.
