Seacoast Luddites Consider Blocking Powerline Project – Must Like it Cold and Dark

When Granite State Enviro-wackos are not blocking paths to more affordable energy they are taxing the crap out of it. Making us pay more for it. Or, in the case of a powerline project in the seacoast, considering if and how best to block it.

As if we’ve got pools of power and energy just laying around to tap into when needed.

We don’t.

It all needs to be brought in from somewhere else. But the Green Machine has gone all-in on making that as difficult and expensive as possible. Money they should probably be giving to their allies at Planned Parenthood to prevent carbon emitting babies from overpopulating the planet. Saving it for, nobody.

Green Nowhere man, making nowhere power plans for nobody.

The Union Leader title says it all. “Opponents of Seacoast transmission line project don’t rule out court fight.” But a more accurate description would be, Seacoast Luddites Consider Blocking Powerline Project – Must Like it Cold and Dark.

Opponents of a state-approved $84 million transmission-line project designed to boost the reliability of the region’s electric system haven’t ruled out going to court to overturn its approval.

“At this point, the towns of Durham and Newington, as well as other intervenors, will have to review the actual permit language and decide whether a request for rehearing and ultimately an appeal to the NH Supreme Court is warranted,” Durham said in a statement released by Town Administrator Todd Selig on Friday.

Perhaps it should be state policy to redirect power away from “intervenors.” Not just the pipelines or power lines. All of it. Teach the Luddites a lesson. Make them buy their own windmills and solar collectors. See how long that holds up with all the locals.

And how, I wonder, will they power their pumps to hold back the rising seas?

While we’re at it since the legislature has assumed the power to force business to pay more for things than the going market rate, why not make the same leap for towns like Durham and Newington. Put their money on the line for their beliefs. Pass a law requiring towns to opt-in to pay the tax per ton on CO2 emissions from their towns.

We could use that money to prop up those all-important north country Biomass jobs they love so much.

Right?

Putting Your Money Where Your Mouth Is

While they appear happy to screw their own residents on any number of local issues does anyone here believe that Hopkinton, Keene, Hanover, Portsmouth, Durham, and their surrounding communities will be first in line to pay any real price for their environmental activism?

ISO New England’s models predict regular rolling blackouts after 2020 due to a deliberate failure to provide adequate energy infrastructure. A problem we have only because of the Green-Zealots who act as intervenors.

An activity that sacrifices everyone else in the state on the altar of their Climate Cult virtue signaling.

New Hampshire needs to start building pipelines and transmission lines to keep our most vulnerable (that’s all of us) warm in winter. And not left sitting in the dark.

If we really are “all in this together: isn’t it about time you stop holding the entire state hostage?
