Michael Cohen Referred to Department of Justice on Charges of Perjury

Disbarred and disgraced former Trump lawyer Michal Cohen was up on the hill the other day. Digging a very deep hole – for himself. Seems like he forgot which lie was which. Statements made under oath before Congress do not match sworn statements made to the FBI. Given that all those things are in writing, well, perjury becomes pretty easy to prove.

“Mr. Cohen’s testimony before the Committee at times was in direct contradiction to assertions contained in pleadings authored by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York,” stated the letter sent to recently-confirmed Attorney General William Barr.

Mr. Cohen denied committing various fraudulent acts during his testimony. Things he had already plead guilty too in Federal Court.

Cohen told Congress that he never sought employment in the Trump White House, but this contradicts notes taken by the US Assistant Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

He also has issues with regard to arrangements with foreign entities whom he represented without properly filing to comply with the Foreign Agents Registration Act. He is either guilty of not declaring himself under FARA or of defrauding the companies who paid him for work he then would not have actually done.

He was also found to have contradicted other written statements made to the committee before his testimony.

All in all, not a good day for Michael Cohen.

Leave it to Democrats to pin their hopes on another serial liar.
