The current President of New Hampshire Right to Life has announced she is resigning effective March 1st (Friday). She cites a difference in visions for the organization between herself the Board of Trustees. Here is her notification, emailed to their mailing list late yesterday.
My dear friends,
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that I am resigning as President of NH Right to Life effective Friday, March 1. I am resigning in the best of interest of NHRTL as it seems the Board of Trustees and I have different visions for the organization. When you find yourself fighting your friends instead of fighting for your cause, it’s time to leave.
NH Right to Life is the oldest and largest pro-life organization here in NH, but we need to turn this 46+ year-old grassroots organization into a modern day, mobilization force. This will take a lot of hard work, dedication, and passion. This will take each one of you. Raise your banners high and continue marching towards a pro-life victory.
In the last few months, it has become extremely important to know where NHRTL stands in its vision and in its impact here in NH. With other states introducing and passing legislation that will enshrine abortion in their states, we here in NH need to look at how we work to enshrine Personhood in ours. Always remember that the hidden child in the womb needs to be respected and cherished. Let’s change our language to reflect their lives…. they are not “potential lives” but “lives with potential”, it’s not “mom-to-be” but “mom.” Step by step we will achieve our goals, but we should never compromise or allow for exceptions to puncture our staircase to Personhood. And lastly, in order to change the culture and laws of the Granite State, we need to focus on the reason this organization was founded so many years ago – for the lives of the preborn, the elderly, the disabled and infirmed, and those whose lives are seen as not worthy of living. We fight for them.
It has been my pleasure to lead you all in this fight to defend life. I thank each and every one of you for your dedication and friendship over this last year of my Presidency and the last few years I have been with NHRTL. Don’t worry, I’m not leaving the pro-life movement, I’m just taking a well-deserved rest.
