In this short clip, Senator Ted Cruz offers his take on why Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to delay the State of the Union. Put simply, Pelosi can’t afford to let Mr. Trump have that much access to the American people.
How typical of the left.
The State of the Union is a Yuge soapbox. And now that Barry Soetoro is out of office it’s almost worth watching. Listening to your president build America and it’s people up is a pleasant change. But that’s not Pelosi’s biggest problem. Mr. Trump is going to spend the better part of an hour telling you what her media allies have been ignoring. Part of which is pointing out that what he’s asking for from Democrats to reopen the government is less than they have willingly authorized in the past.
A downpayment on a promise to secure the border. And a reminder about why we need to secure it.
She’ll do anything to keep that from happening until after the shutdown is over otherwise she stands to lose what little leverage she thinks she has.
Isn’t it cute how she thinks Trump is going to blink?
And, as Sen. Cruz also points out, Pelosi has her terrifying far-left base to think about. They won’t look kindly on Democrats allowing this President to accomplish anything. Which, to their disappointment, and despite the media’s best efforts to hide it, he’s been doing all along.
That’s no excuse to let him go on about it in front of a large national audience she needs to be kept in the dark like mushrooms.
