Appeals Court Upholds Trump’s Military Transgender Ban

A Federal appeals court has upheld the partial ban on transgenders serving in the military. In their opinion, the lower court erred in its judgment that the policy was the equivalent of a blanket ban. According to Western Journal,

“The government took substantial steps to cure the procedural deficiencies the court identified in the enjoined 2017 presidential memorandum,” the panel said, according to USA Today.

The Trump administration had decided to allow those with gender dysmorphia to serve, but only if they served under the gender assigned to them at birth and not the one that they self identify with.

While transgenders may serve as their biological sex an additional memorandum, according to the report, clarified that any persons requiring surgery or medication are disqualified from service.

I take that to mean no transitioning while in service. Serve your country, do your duty, and when you’re done, and only when you are done serving, do whatever the hell you like.

The standing framework continues to follow the words of the Commander in Chief.

Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you.”

I would expect this to be appealed all the way to the Supreme Court by which time the left hopes to be rid of Trump.

Not sure they’ll happen but that’s what they are doing with all these challenges. Rule changes Obama made with a phone and a pen that Trump can’t undo without wading through the Justice System.
