Irish Democracy in New Jersey and a recognition that Government isn’t obeying that “shall not infringe” thingie?

Irish Democracy:

“we have a weapon more powerful… than any in the whole arsenal of the British Empire! That weapon… is our refusal! … There is one weapon that the British cannot take away from us: we can ignore them.”

CT, NY, IL, CA – it seems that Constitutionally oriented citizens are all starting to practice “Irish Democracy” as (mostly) Progressive captured State Governments, intent on civilian disarmament by the “death of a thousand cuts”, keep up their onslaught on narrowing citizens’ choices when it comes to “arms” (reformatted, emphasis mine):

A report from Reason reveals not a single New Jersey resident has surrendered their “high capacity” magazines to state police since the implementation of the magazine ban.
Breitbart News reported that New Jersey’s “high capacity” magazine ban took effect December 11, 2018, making the mere possession of such a magazine a fourth degree felony.

Don’t you just love the re-definition of “high capacity” that Progressives use in order to advance their agenda?  Standard capacity for AR-15 style long rifles is 30 rounds.  End of story.  High capacity?  How about that starts at around 50 and requires either a single or double drum configuration (or some other kind of mechanism).  But that’s how Progressive “death of a thousand cuts to the Second Amendment” rolls – linguistically cut the knees out from underneath an issue they hate, and then use that language gymnastics to propose and pass laws to circle that square.  And they do it over and over again because it WORKS because our population has been so dumb’d down from their education system, most don’t consider the second, third, or fourth level down of any kind of decision.  Seemingly, “if it sounds ok”, that’s the only educational bar the Progressives have to step over.  Seems, however, Second Amendment Rights supporters aren’t all that hep to that discussion.

And it seems that the NH Staties are starting to realize that dark clouds may be hanging over their heads in that they are being put into an absolutely no-win situation with Progressives on 1 side and over 1 million gun owners. And is there an implicit realization that cold could go hot real quick?

At first, the New Jersey State Police refused to rule out door-to-door enforcement of the ban, then made clear that they had no plans to go house-to-house. Now, over two weeks since the ban took effect, the NJSP say no residents have surrendered their “high capacity” magazines. According to Reason, NJSP Sgt. Jeff Flynn said “they have received ‘zero‘” magazines as a result of the ban.

Go reference that Reason post for more details on that. So, I have to ask the pregnant question – our Government exists solely with the consent of the people. Are we now seeing, in multiple locations, that consent is being withdrawn?  With the plethora of laws and regulations being passed by those directing and executing the laws / regulations in the land that people are starting to say NO?

And why shouldn’t they?  NJ is not known as being a hotbed of squeaky clean politicians who have the absolute peak of of honesty. And when we Normals see corruption at that level, isn’t it logical that the next level down says “hey, they’re ignoring the law at their level, why can’t we?  Why SHOULDN’T we as well?”.  If those in charge won’t obey the Constitution, why should we obey the Federal or State laws?  After all, if you are going to have a system of The Rule of Law, either that philosophy applies to everyone or it only is applicable to a tyrannical Government looking to use The Law as a hammer to everyone else.

I thought this was a bonus and an admission of a “Chief of Police” (that level of law enforcement that generally loves civilian disarmament versus the beat cops that appreciate lawful carriers) that there is such thing as “good guys with guns” but in a perverse sort of way:

On December 15, 2018, former NYC police commissioner Bernard Kerik blasted the magazine ban because it also applies to off-duty police officers, too. In other words, off-duty officers cannot legally use magazines holding more than 10 rounds while off the clock. Kerik said, “NJ Governor @GovMurphy is endangering the life of every off duty NJ cop! Gang bangers, drug thugs and really bad guys don’t give a damn about magazine capacity

And the money part of that quote:

So he takes the good guy’s ammunition, and the bad guys are loaded for bear!”

So there’s the admission, but look the context – the only good guy with a gun also has a badge.

So, does that mean that Kerik believes the rest of us are either the “bad guys” or just “bad guys in waiting”?  Yet, studies have shown that average law abiding Concealed Carrier Citizens are an order magnitude better than the average policeman in terms of observing the Law.
