Democrats Can’t Connect with Voters Because of How Smart They Are

Senator Mazie Hirono knows why Democrats have problems connecting with voters. Democrats are too cerebral — too much head, not enough gut. Oh, and “Democrats know so much, that is true. And we have to kind of tell everybody how smart we are,…”

Being smarter than regular Americans is a topic of discussion when Hirono and her Democrat pals go on swanky retreats. How do they stop being so damn analytical and appeal to people’s emotions? Seriously?

Wait, it gets better.

“And I have been saying in all of our Senate Democratic retreats that we need to speak to the heart, not in a manipulative way, not in a way that brings forth everybody’s fears and resentments, but truly to speak to the hearts, so that people know that we’re actually on their side,” she added.

So, the protests, riots, threats, grandstanding, fires, property destruction, running Republicans out of restaurants, left-wing mobs and violence are not emotional efforts to manipulate? That’s a relief.

I feel a lot better now.

And please, continue to talk down to us. THAT is how you connect with voters.
