Mexico Deporting Caravan Members For Us

Tijuana has had it up to here with these caravan people and has begun deporting some of them.

Tijuana officials said late Monday they had arrested 34 caravan members for drug possession, public intoxication, disturbing the peace and resisting police, and they would be deported to their home countries.

Jazz Shaw adds that Tijuana’s reliance on tourism is not improved by the circumstances.

“their economic survival is based almost entirely on tourism, with the vast majority of that traffic coming from the United States. Having a bunch of migrants getting into drunken brawls and slinging drugs probably isn’t viewed as a net win for the locals. It doesn’t help that the mainstream media is gathering there like flies on roadkill and drawing everyone’s attention to the situation.”

It would be much more interesting to see the mainstream media getting into drunken brawls, but I digress.

“No to the invasion” and “Mexico First.”

Over at NPR, they are reporting on crowds or protesters yelling ‘Mexico First’ demanding that these hooligans get the boot.

The message for the migrant caravan was clear from marchers on Sunday in Tijuana, Mexico: We don’t want you here.

“We want the caravan to go; they are invading us,” said Patricia Reyes, a 62-year-old protester, hiding from the sun under an umbrella. “They should have come into Mexico correctly, legally, but they came in like animals.”

Demonstrators held signs reading “No illegals,” “No to the invasion” and “Mexico First.” Many wore the country’s red, white and green national soccer jersey and vigorously waved Mexican flags. The crowd often slipped into chants of “Ti-jua-na!” and “Me-xi-co!” They sang the national anthem several times.

NPR did not accuse the protesters of being Trumpists or Racists but they did point out how the Tijuana mayor wore a Trumpian-like hat and how he’s very unpopular.

Close enough.
