The burning question is this. If sex is not fixed then why should age be any different? That is why Motivational Speaker Emile Ratelband has petitioned a court to alter his birth certificate because he says he feels 20 years younger and there are benefits to being 49 instead of 69.
“Mr. Ratelband said: ‘I have done a check-up and what does it show? My biological age is 45 years. When I’m 69, I am limited. If I’m 49, then I can buy a new house, drive a different car. I can take up more work. When I’m on Tinder and it says I’m 69, I don’t get an answer. When I’m 49, with the face I have, I will be in a luxurious position.'”
So it is about sex after all. And if you can change your sex because you feel like it why not your age?
Now, what exactly is wrong with Ratelband’s argument? If sex doesn’t objectively exist, why does age? If feelings determine sex, why don’t feelings determine age? If we are to regard sex as “assigned” at birth, why don’t we regard age as “assigned” at birth?
Dennis Prager continues,
Of course, the left would argue that age is fixed while “gender is fluid.” But “gender is fluid” is a meaningless statement. All the left has done is substitute the word “gender” for “sex” and then make up a rule: Gender is fluid, meaning sex is fluid.
And just for clarity,
Few deny there are people with gender dysphoria — people who do not identify with their biological sex. These people deserve our care, sympathy and the respect due every person as the child of God he or she is.
But sympathy for the minuscule percentage of people who do not identify with their sex doesn’t mean sex (or gender) doesn’t objectively exist. It just means some people don’t identify with their objective sexual identity.
That is precisely correct (bigot!). And calling people who suggest it names does not change the truth. Another of which is that the actual condition is of no interest to the left at all. It is merely another vehicle by which they are advancing an extremist ideology. They are using these folks to create division and schisms in the culture that allows them to pry at the corners of Constitutional protections to Religion, free speech, and free associations.

Not so special, just another tool used to pry at the edges of the forces restraining government’s natural inclination to abuse power.
Meanwhile, Emile, who wants “things” his younger self must have missed and thinks claiming he’s only 49 will help that along, needs to ask himself what happens if he dies at 52 (72). American Leftists are relying on the “success” of socialized medicine in Europe as a vehicle for destroying patient-centered medicine in the US. If the age expectancy in the old country falls off a cliff because everyone has re-aged themselves, putting the final nails into the coffin of government-centered medicine in America could be doomed.
