Help Us Grow our Alexa Rank

We use Alexa to measure our traffic rankings and to compare them to other sites around New Hampshire. But not everyone who visits us is getting counted. We are not all using the Alexa extension in our browsers. If you’d like to help us improve our Alexa ranking a great way to do that is to add the Alexa extension to your browser.

In the upper right corner of your Chrome Browser, next to your icon or image, hover over the three vertical dots that look like an ellipsis standing upright (I have no idea what that thing is called, sorry). Click it to open the menu, select ‘More Tools‘ and then ‘Extensions.’

Search Extensions for ‘Alexa Traffic Rank,’ add it to your browser and make sure it is activated. Already have it? Just make sure it is activated. Then what?

Alexa explains how the ranking process works.

Alexa’s Traffic Ranks are based on the traffic data provided by users in Alexa’s global data panel over a rolling 3 month period. Traffic Ranks are updated daily. A site’s ranking is based on a combined measure of Unique Visitors and Pageviews. Unique Visitors are determined by the number of unique Alexa users who visit a site on a given day. Pageviews are the total number of Alexa user URL requests for a site. However, multiple requests for the same URL on the same day by the same user are counted as a single Pageview. The site with the highest combination of unique visitors and pageviews is ranked #1. Additionally, we employ data normalization to correct for biases that may occur in our data.

Not All Browsers are Created Equal

Other browsers may have different steps for add-ins, plug-ins, apps, or extensions but once you’ve decided to join us (or even if you decide not to), please visit GraniteGrok.com every day (throughout the day) to check out new content on politics and the culture here in New Hampshire and around the world.

You’ll get news and opinion you can only get from GraniteGrok.com and giving us a better idea of where we stand in the new media landscape.

If you decide to add the plugin, great. If not, no worries. But every visit helps as we work toward becoming a top 5 new media destination in New Hampshire.
