Harvard & Yale Scientists. ‘We can Dim the Sun’ to Stop Global Warming

It’s only a theory but for a few billion a year, beginning a few years from now, “experts” think we might be able to dim the sun. Why? Global Warming. Cool the planet by deliberately dispersing sulfate particles in the atmosphere. Yeah, it’s dumb. But guaranteed to get more funding.

The ‘scientists’ at Harvard and Yale admit it’ just a theory and have no details on or particulate particulars but who needs those. Global Warming!

The research by scientists at Harvard and Yale universities, published in the journal Environmental Research Letters, proposes using a technique known as stratospheric aerosol injection, which they say could cut the rate of global warming in half.

The technique would involve spraying large amounts of sulfate particles into the Earth’s lower stratosphere at altitudes as high as 12 miles. The scientists propose delivering the sulfates with specially designed high-altitude aircraft, balloons or large naval-style guns.

A Few Problems Like, Famine and Death

A few problems, not the least of which is that there is no global warming. The science tells us that particulates distributed across the atmosphere lead to cooling. A lot of it. Little Ice age to big ice age cooling, depending on other factors. Like?

The absence of solar activity that we see now coupled with a significant volcanic eruption (or scientists adding sulfates to the atmosphere) would produce too much cooling. Millions would freeze to death in a little ice age as windmills froze and solar panels failed (not that either of these is viable in normal winters).

Energy prices would skyrocket out of reach of most. The only way to heat homes and offices would be an aggressive commitment to fossil fuels and that does what? Produce even more of the so-called evil CO2 without any of the promised warming.

Trees hit hardest, at least while there were people around to cut them down.

Mass migrations southward.

Don’t Worry, It Could Get Worse

If the particulates were still airborne while the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation moved into its cold cycle (during a weak solar period) -toss in an El Nina -and we could have a nice little man-made ice age.

But, hey! Warming would not be a problem. Living would. And what if that’s the point?
