Is Michael Avenatti, by chance, their lawyer?
At its heart, [Mr. Trump’s] campaign message on the caravan is its arrogance in dictating immigration policy to the US. What could be more arrogant than suing the US to demand entry and better housing before they even arrive?
We have foreigners claiming the constitutional rights of actual citizens while referencing US laws as grounds for a lawsuit based on public statements which, if you happen to be an actual client of Michael Avenatti you should know won’t get you very far.
In the case of the migrants, they have no standing. You can’t sue for something that hasn’t happened especially when it hasn’t happened to you. But here we are.
A handful of people in an army of foreigners (a now much smaller army) is demanding entry and filing lawsuits to get it.
How well does this go over right before an election?
If Democrats are not careful we’ll get a slew of public remarks that will further motivate moderates and Republicans to get out and vote to keep Democrats out of office.
That makes me smile. I hope that happens.
