Quick Thought – Did anyone else did a double take on this reporting?

Or even that Law Enforcement at any level is even talking this way (emphasis mine, reformatted)??

Cheshire County Sheriff candidates have different views on law enforcement

KEENE — Which laws to follow and which laws to ignore are up for debate in the race for Cheshire County Sheriff, with incumbent Eli Rivera’s announced plans to step away from any agreement with the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency. The race for sheriff pits Rivera, the incumbent Democrat, against Republican Earl Nelson, a longtime police officer and New Hampshire Police Academy instructor. The contest also sees Libertarian candidate Aria Di Mezzo running on a platform to privatize the agency and stop enforcing drug and prostitution laws.  “You don’t have to necessarily agree with the law,” Nelson said. “But you can’t say ‘I’m not going to enforce that law.’”

It’s not enough to watch the reversal of our main philosophy of jurisprudence, innocent until proven guilty, in the absolute insane meltdown that is the Kavanaugh confirmation process where a man’s reputation, family, and livelihood is being trashed simply on uncorroborated allegations of drinking, sex, and being a frat boy back in the 80s because of the #MeToo hysteria that ALL women must be believed simply because NOT MEN.  All being driven by the Democrats who seemingly desire Power (or, at least, denial of Power to others if they can’t have it)

Does anyone think it strange (or infuriating) that those who we choose to represent us have the entitlement that they, and they alone, can decide what laws can be followed and which can be ignored.  Look, I get the fact that our “WE HAVE TO BE SEEN AS DOING SOMETHING!!!” legislators are incapable of saying “nope, we have enough laws” (and I remind you all of that phrase that we all commit 5-10 crimes every day without knowing it because who can keep up with them all?). They do have a hand in the above BECAUSE they are sure that things would be right in the world as they create the external governance they believe will solve all ills and forget that internal governance is far better.  But I digress.

WHY are we Normals allowing this to happen – DO YOUR DANGED JOB. You’re running for an elected office, a law enforcement office, and the first thing you promise is to NOT enforce the Law?  I don’t care WHAT the Law is in the above case – YOU DON’T GET TO DECIDE! Your job is to faithfully enforce the law. I get that there are so many laws it may be hard, if not downright impossible, to enforce them all. Thus, there is “discretion”.  But to campaign by saying you can ignore the law?

Heck, on this basis, Nelson should be the next Sheriff.  I don’t know him from a hole in the wall; I have no idea if he’d be good, great, or crappy. But if I lived in Cheshire County, he’d get my vote simply for that line “But you can’t say ‘I’m not going to enforce that law.

After all, who amongst us can get away, long term anyways, by saying “nope, don’t care what the Law says, I’m gonna do exactly what I want to do.” No, it doesn’t work that way.  If it did, we’d end up, in probably a short amount of time, in complete anarchy.

Hey, these two chuckleheads (Rivera and Di Mezzo) aren’t alone.  Just look at the cities and States that have decided they have the wherewithal to say the same thing – we aren’t going to follow Federal Law. Or the Constitution. Or anything thing else, so it seems, except for what they want to do.

And the Progressives scoff at the mention of another Civil War? Such a war doesn’t have to always include bullets. To circle back, if the foundation of the US system has become this week, that we are moving away from a representative form of government (e.g., the 17th Amendment that eliminated States right in a Federalism system, the current move to neuter the Electoral College and replace it with direct democracy (anathema to our Founder who knew such systems always collapse), the constant attack on the Constitution via Cultural Marxism, and now calls that the Supreme Court will be “illegitimate” with both Gorsuch and Kavanaugh on the bench).

More later.
