No, it’s probably not over but,
Christine Blasey Ford is throwing in the towel.
Ford’s lawyers have told CNN that their client “absolutely does not want him (Kavanaugh) impeached if Democrats take control of Congress.”
Ford is reported to have said she got out of this process what she intended.
“Professor Ford has not asked for (Democrats to continue investigating Kavanaugh.) What she did was to come forward and testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee and agree to cooperate with any investigation by the FBI and that’s what she sought to do here,” Katz said.
I don’t think she intended any of this.
I think the plan was to use her to drop an anonymous bomb that would convince Kavanaugh to drop out. When her name was leaked (and he refused to be intimidated) the people behind the 11th hour harpooning had to come up with a way to make it all work. They never made it work.
All they did was put on a s**t-show whose real impact may turn out to be the worst possible thing that could happen to the Democrats right before an election.
It couldn’t have happened to a “nicer” bunch and who can blame Balsey-Ford for wanting to put this “traumatic event” behind her.
My advice? Democrats did, after all, ignore her request to remain anonymous. We can only assume they’ll ignore this request as well.
If you want to honor her request vote Republican. If Democrats don’t take back the US House, they can’t possibly go back on another promise. It will also prevent them from keeping promises like raising your taxes and undoing the economic recovery.
