Data Point – NAEP scores show failure of government schools

Sixty-five percent of the eighth graders in American public schools in 2017 were not proficient in reading and 67 percent were not proficient in mathematics, according to the National Assessment of Educational Progress test results released by the U.S. Department of Education.”

2017 NAEP national scores - flat results

And yet, we continue to force children to go to those sub-standard, poorly performing schools and not allowing parents to direct their childrens’ education.  And here in NH, we can blame Neil Kurk of the NH House Finance Committee for once again showing us that the Republicans are united with the Democrats in enforcing zip-code education orientation and continuing the lock of the Democrat wing of the their Party, the teachers unions, in this failure.

This is hole digging – when are the Republicans going to stop digging in the same hole as the Socialists that demand that only government schools are “the common good” instead of insisting that the real “common good” are educated children.  And un-indoctrinated ones as well?

Why do we put up with spending of hundreds of billions of dollars on what doesn’t work?
