SHOT: BREAKING: ABC cancels Roseanne after ‘abhorrent, repugnant’ tweet.
CHASER: Question for investors: Should you risk your money on a network that will trash its most valuable property over a tweet?
So Hollywood, that pack of hypocritical moralizers that has constantly preached to we Normals how bad we were (and their actual beliefs gave rise to the #MeToo movement), decided to be like Progressives everywhere – see an existential threat to their agenda (e.g., NOT a Trump hater!) and search high and low for a reason, any reason at all, to get that person torched out of existence. Sure, she GAVE them a reason but no amount of apologizing will suffice. That’s their M.O. The cherry on top is that she’s KNOWN for this kind of outburst – except it used to be from the Left.
Now that the Left is/was the butt of her jokes, that cannot be allowed or tolerated. She must be destroyed. The fact that the rest of the cast and crew have now lost their jobs and cannot provide for their families, so what. That they are collateral damage, well, they CHOSE to work for her show so they deserved it (according to the Progressive school of thought as expressed by Political Correctness – yep, they’re still preaching and punishing those that dare to defy their groupthink). The fact that Conservatives (or at least, those tired of Hollywood telling others how to think and act) LIKED the show – add another cherry.
So if you were a conservative investor in that network, would you have done the same? How about a DIFFERENT network – would you invest in her show there? Or as some have already opined, a spinoff with John Goodman as the lead? And just to “get in their faces” (as Obama said to do), leave the name of the show: Roseanne?
