Winning is only the precursor; what you do afterwards is most important
Stephen Green (“the VodkaPundit”) makes a few observation about what the DC GOP has been doing that runs counter to what they SAY they stand for. It’s the reason why I’ve been saying for years is don’t LISTEN to politicians. Instead, pay attention to what they DO. And in this case, especially what they DO as they OWN DC politics. We gave them what they wanted – are they keeping their word in “being Republicans”?
I hate to ask, but how’s that GOP majority workin’ out for ya?
- Jeff Sessions Announces Justice Department Will Increase Asset Forfeiture.
- House Republicans work to torpedo Trump’s air traffic control plan.
- House Republicans to fall back on more modest spending plan — counting on Democrat votes while ignoring fiscal conservatives.
- No surprise: On Obamacare, GOP senators don’t do what they don’t want to do.
- GOP Senator Warns Republican Health Care Bill Would Slash Medicaid.
On matters big and small, liberty lovers and fiscal cons have been effectively shut out by the Republican leadership/RINOs/Permanent Bipartisan Fusion Party/etc. This doesn’t surprise me — I left the GOP before it was cool. I waved “Buh-bye” when the Bushpublicans forced through Medicare Part D over a decade ago.
…If I’m surprised at all, it’s merely over the speed and the scope of the Great Republican Collapse of 2017. You had to figure it was going to be bad — but this bad?
This year’s deficit is expected to top $700 billion, and that’s absent a major war or economic downturn.
Yeah, all that about “we can manage it better than the Democrats?”. The annual deficit was just raised by $100 Billion.
Consistency breeds Trust yields Votes – I guess that the GOP is gonna have to relearn that lesson yet again. But why does it seem almost immediately happen right after they attain the power they said they needed to carry out OUR agenda?
That seems to be a consistency they have – but is it he one, be it in DC or in Concord, the one they want to be known for?
