Blogline of the Day – foregone opportunity ahead for the GOP?

by

DayOfReckoningRemorse after The Day of Reckoning (Nov 8, 2018)?

Unless things change, the GOP is going to look back on 2017-2019 as a wasted opportunity, which is exactly opposite of how Democrats remember 2009-2011.

Sure, there have been a bunch of GOP sponsored bills passed on eliminating bad rules left over from the Obama Administration and between those and Trump’s Executive Orders will save us taxpayers a ton of money already.  But “important” legislation passed and signed into law? Stephen Green may well be correct.  Already Healthcare Insurance reform may in Congressional Purgatory and already there’s murmurs that Tax Reform is getting attacked already from inside the GOP.  The Old Guard have their own priorities and they may not include Trump’s.

There will be lessons to learn, and soon, or they will learn it rather quickly on 11/8:

  • Consistency breeds Trust yields Votes
  • Winning is just a precursor; it is what you do afterwards that’s most important

They promised a bunch of things on the campaign trail – the mood of the electorate is one not too forget.  Consistency in this age is fulfilling those EXACT promises and no excuses (e.g., need the House, need the Senate, need the Presidency and NOW the newest: “we need sixty Senators to break the filibuster) will be tolerated for not delivering results.

No results?  No votes. No GOPer, national or State, will get my vote simply because they have an R after their name.  ONLY exception is if I know them AND their record is fine (which means my two NH State Reps are fine).

You should do the same.
