Seriously, this is a revelation?

“But don’t forget: this is called the Republican party. It’s not called the Conservative Party. You know, there are Conservative parties. This is called the Republican party.”   -Donald Trump (presumptive GOP Presidential nominee, 2016)

I watched this during This Week and went “yeah? – this is some big unknown revelation?  Please”.

The post at RedState brought out that this was Trump’s way of splitting the Republican Party from Conservatives.  Well, golly, just tell me something I don’t know already – that happened long ago because ALL Republicans seem to call themselves Conservative come campaign time (and Trump is already calling himself a Conservative).

No, no surprised look from me.  What The Donald has done, for this campaign cycle, has affirmed what I have been saying for years now; when it comes to “Winning is only a precursor; it is what you do afterwards is most important”, the Republican Party has only be interested in the first word.  Sorry, but I agree with Scott in that I have no idea what he really will do “afterwards” but it makes no difference – the Republican Party hasn’t been conservative (at least at the national level for a long time and it certainly isn’t here in NH at the leadership level).
