Hillary: “…because we’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business”

After all, she is running to be the Second Coming of Obama in being his third term.  So why shouldn’t she be following in his footsteps?

“You know, when I was asked earlier about the issue of coal, uh, you know — Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. Even regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad. Because I’m capping greenhouse gases, coal power plants, you know, natural gas, you name it — whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, uh, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers.”

But he did declare coal to be bad.  Have you ever known a President, once smack down by Congress by NOT voting for a Cap N Trade, just on his own try to put an entire industry out of existence on his (and his EPA’s) say so?  And now Hillary is going that one next step further – she has promised to finish off the proud people of coal country.  And her utterance couldn’t be any more full of irony with the question being asked at the CNN’s Democrat town hall event:

Make the case to poor whites who vote Republican why they should vote for you and your economic policies

Sigh…

Again, let’s read that again: “Make the case to poor whites who vote Republican why they should vote for you and your economic policies”.  Her answer may well be truthful but you can be sure LOTS of ads are going to be made out of her answer:

Typical Progressive answer: you are too stupid to know you are hurting yourselves.  Her solution:  I’m gonna take your (well paying at an average of $82K / miner) jobs and companies away from you.  And we’ll make you all dependent on the Government.

Yep, that’ll make them vote fer ya fer sho!  And making them “victims” (by their own behaviors mining coal) to boot:

“those people [who] labored in those mines for generations, losing their health, often losing their lives to turn on our lights and power our factories — now we’ve got to move away from coal and all the other fossil fuels — but I don’t want to move away from the people who did the best they could to produce the energy that we relied on.”

Right, just put them on welfare – that will be the extent, along with other government dependency programs, of “don’t want to move away”.

And after that, you can be sure she’ll be going after the “natural gas miracle” of fracking (” and all the other fossil fuels”).  So she’s gonna ruin the entire energy industry on the renewable energy hope and change. And ruin thousands of people and their families in the process.  But hey, PROGRESS! and it doesn’t matter what we think.  That is the essence of Progressivism – it only matters what the Political Class wants.  You and I?  Not so much.

And from where did the Constitutional Power that a President can decide what industry can exist and which cannot arise from again?
