If the VA Gov thinks his subjects should not have guns, why should those around him?

holstered-gun1That would be former DNC Chair, Clintonista bundler and current Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe (D) who ran on putting in place severe gun control and restrictions.  Well, he did get elected but the Republican Legislature denied him that action but did do some Executive Orders a la “Obama’s pen and phone”.  So, in a pique, his Attorney General (D) unilaterally decided that he would sever almost all reciprocity agreements concerning firearm carry laws.

This has not set well with the Republican Legislature – along the lines of if McAuliffe doesn’t like people having guns and has gone out of his way to deny them best he can, well (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Virginia state senator Bill Carrico (R-Dist. 40) is responding to Governor Terry McAuliffe’s (D) relentless gun control push by introducing a budget amendment to remove funding for McAuliffe’s protection detail.

A lot of the governor’s power is deferred to the General Assembly at that point and I’ll be getting with my colleagues to circumvent everything this governor has done on this point. I have a budget amendment that I’m looking at to take away his executive protection unit. If he’s so afraid of guns, then I’m not going to surround him with armed state policemen.

Heh!  Power of the purse, baby!

Actually if you really look close, it seems that this is standard fare; many of those on the Left with political power that argue for civilian disarmament  knowing their sorry tattered souls and butts are surrounded by people who are armed.  Hypocrisy in that THEY have the right to exercise their Right to self-defense (even more to the point – using our taxes) but we, the Little People, cannot?

Why is it that they are SO scared of law abiding citizens being armed?

Oh yeah, the REAL reason why our Founding Fathers created the Second Amendment – and it has nothing to do with hunting or target practice.
