And when you manipulate definitions of common words and socially suppress even the speaking of ideas that “cause hurt and pain”, you win the argument because any opposing ideas, philosophies, or arguments can no longer even be expressed. Doubt me? Just listen to Bruce Jenner’s own words (emphasis mine, reformatted):
BRUCE JENNER: MEDIA CAN’T SAY BAD THINGS ABOUT ME ‘BECAUSE THEN THEY’D BE HOMOPHOBIC
Being honored as one of Glamour magazine’s Women of the Year in New York on Monday, Bruce Jenner praised political correctness for silencing critics of his gender transition. Addressing a crowd at Carnegie Hall, the former Olympian said his June Vanity Fair cover story changed the conversation within the transgender community, and noted critics of his life choices had been silenced by labels. “No longer can the media say bad things about you because then they’d be homophobic,” he said.
Ah – truth wins out; don’t like the idea that people disagree with you? Simple, easy-peazy, eh, just silence them? Just adopt the tactics of the Left. Sorry Bruce, I (and a whole lotta other people) don’t care if we get called one or more of your “PC epithets” or not; they’ve been so overused and obviously used just to do what you say it is for, they are becoming useless. The jig is up – except for folks like you who think they can control the conversation(s) to your advantage. Cultural Marxism – gin up social class warfare because the economic try was such a bust (Gramsci). Stir in Alinsky’s foul tactics of agitation, and this is what we get. The silliness at Mizzou and Yale where PC is running absolutely amok is just another variation.
Control – the essence of Political Correctness. Nice to see your gaffe (“the unintended telling of a truth”) confirms what more and more of us knew already. Control the language, control the speech, control the ideas – control the politics.
And that IS the end game – if we let it.
