by Skip
  • To an adjoining Middle Eastern country:  $5,364 / 5 years
  • To the US: $64,370 ( or $257,481 for a refugee household)

“The five-year costs of resettlement in the United States include $9,230 spent by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) within HHS and the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) within the State Department in the first year, as well as $55,139 in expenditures on welfare and education,”

Middle Eastern refugees in the U.S. have traditionally required a lot of public assistance, with 91 percent on food stamps, 68 percent on cash assistance, and 62 percent on Medicaid, according to the most recent government data.

Obama wants to bring over 10,000 Syrian refugees?  If only it was out of his own pocket.
