DEMOCRAT DEBATE: BEHOLD THE GLORY OF THE CHURCH OF THE STATE
And the Italian tagline certainly applies to last night’s debate:
All within the State, nothing outside the State, nothing against the State – Benito Mussolini
And the modern rendition:
Government’s the only thing we all belong to – Democrat National Committee
This is what they want, lust after, and certainly implement if they gain the Oval Throne. Er, no – the government (small g) belongs to us and not this upside-down / inside-out distortion that the Democrats would have us believe in hoodwinking many into their collectivism. The Founders believed that government was necessary but as limited as possible and thus allow us as much Freedom as one can have in an ordered society. Last night, the Socialists on that stage (hidden under the so called cloak of “Democrats”) want government to be suffused into every nook and cranny of our lives (the Obama campaign’s Life of Julia on steroids). As Doug used to say during our Budget Committee meetings about Liberals / Big Spenders / Statists and their view of tax revenues: “every dollar is sacred”. Never was there any consideration that they were taking money from others. Never was there any consideration the harm they were causing for those on the edge (a couple of times I heard “they can always move”).
The problem is that their “church”‘s collection plate has a couple of armed guards doing the passing – and you’d best be putting in unless their High Priest gives from it.
We ARE being presented with a stark choice of the philosophy of governance (true American political one or a foreign birthed one; the primacy of the Individual or the continued ascendancy of The State; Liberty & Freedom or Socialist/The State).
Please, do not choose poorly.
