You are who you surround yourself with – and it has been clear that Obama by choosing his staff, he has made his ideology clear. Both Dunn and Jones made it quite clear where they stood politically – example when Anita Dunn praised Mao Zedong as her idol. So now we go to Obama’s UN Ambassador (she of the “soft power” of diplomacy heals all situations):
On Thursday night, the eve of the U.N. Summit, U.S. Ambassador to the U.N., Samantha Powers (pictured above), gave a speech in support of the new U.N. Sustainable Development goals where she quoted Communist influenced economist, Amartya Sen:
“I want to open my remarks with a quote from the master,
“Development requires the removal of major sources of unfreedom: poverty as well as tyranny, poor economic opportunities as well as systematic social deprivation, neglect of public facilities as well as intolerance or over-activity of repressive states.” This goes to the essence of Goal 16 in the SDGs, which as you know world leaders will adopt within the next few hours. But it was written nearly two decades ago – by Amartya. And, I would only say, I wish the world had come around to his vision a little bit sooner – we could have probably spared a lot of people a lot of heartache.”
“I wish the world had come around to his vision a little bit sooner“. Words fail me – after decades of fighting Communism and Socialism, we see it wandering the halls of the White House. But then again, if you’ve been paying attention, this should not surprise you at all. But for any true blue American, seeing a high Obama official preaching a Communist message at the UN (but do I repeat myself?) instead of an American one, this should given one reason for a very long pause. What has been wrought in its entirety – and how long will it take to rectify it (if ever)?
