41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents.
Like I have said for years, the Left has been arguing for almost any reason why parents should leave their offspring with government institutions: half-day kindergarden to full day mandatory kindergarden, Pre-school, before and after school daycare, breakfast, lunch and dinner – all year round. And for the kids’ kids too – daycare provided for middle and high school kids (except when, of course, these middle and high school girls are brought to the school health clinic and then a free taxi ride to Planned Parenthood where upon leaving, have left their kid for medical science (re: StemExpress and “intact fetuses”).
And now a Progressive Democrat wants your kids 24/7 (emphasis mine, reformatted)
Rep. DeLauro Pushes for Gov’t Assisted 24/7 Child Care
Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) has been promoting federal government child care assistance “that expands with need,” focusing on 24 hour availability and pay of at least $15 an hour for child care workers.
DeLauro was part of an event last week at Sleeping Giant Day Care in Connecticut, where she discussed her support for a resolution on universal child care. “I’m proud to add my name to a resolution supported by SEIU (Service Employees International Union) and the Congressional Progressive Caucus,” DeLauro says in a video released Monday by the SEIU.
Congressional Progressive Caucus = Socialist. SEIU = Socialist. See #41 above.
“We need to make affordable child care a right for all working families, that means creating a system that makes child care affordable. We need to improve the quality of services by guaranteeing workers a living wage of at least $15 an hour,” DeLauro said. The resolution from the Congressional Progressive Caucus aims to provide child care assistance “by creating a system that expands with need.”
Remember that “…to each according to his need” bit?
Among the resolution’s goals is “to ensure that child care is available so that parents in today’s 24-hour economy can access high- quality care when and where they need it—during weekends, nights, as their job schedules change— with options across school, center and home settings.”
MMM – home settings. Hey! With this, dontcha think some might take advantage of this, you know, game the system? I certainly did see it.
Once gain, children should be with their parents as much as possible. But once again, FREEDOM FROM RESPONSIBLITY is the Socialist urge – simply outsource those responsibilities to us, your faithful providers of all things.
Never mind those “strings attached” and the swapping of your freedoms (and freedom ALWAYS comes with responsibilities) for those “gifts”. Nothing in life is free or without consequence – what will the future hold when others raise your children instead of you? No, not just on you (and there will be one) but on your children? What will they learn that is counter to your values? What will they be taught as their norms versus those that you would have them have? Who will they look up to – and will they think “who were my parents”?
Oh yeah, the answer to that will be “The State”. And that never ends well.
