Ah yes, the Liberty provided by the First Amendment to the US Constitution (and, I might add, from our very fine NH Constitution):

So this is supposed to be a foremost guiding principle of our Republic, eh? Free Speech – the Right to speak your mind, regardless of whether or not you want to listen (you don’t have to), you like it (you don’t have to), or it offends you terribly. To that last part, tough noogies – not my issue, only your’s. But this faint hearted Social Justice Warrior (SJW), Danielle Moodie-Mills, believes she her values of what is right can trump my Right to free speech.
Yeah, that’s fascism:
Did you know there’s a NEW crime against Political Correctness? Misgendering. Yup. Never knew it existed. But she does and you have to live by it!
She wants it to be a crime that if I (and you) do not use whatever new fangled pronoun or new name is demanded by some hapless person who has no idea what their gender is (even with their clothes off) just to make them feel good. The fact that it might make me feel offended is of no consequence (because I am at the bottom of the PC totem pole) or just plain silly. She and others of her ilk can DEMAND something of me but that I have no right to not listen to her.
I may not want to participate in this (actually, I don’t. I’ll be polite about it, but I just want to be left alone) – don’t force me to be a part of something I don’t want to. However, it seems, my duty, according to her, is to bow down and buckle under. I have no rights, no choice, and certainly no freedom but to moderate my speech to her liberal (and totalitarian) thought and world view. Just like the gays that demand someone take a picture of them or bake them a cake, the message that Danielle Moodie-Mills sends is that I have no choice.
She has no problem in taking away my freedom and yours, for if there is retribution by Government for just speech, that is fascism. That is totalitarianism. And she is just fine with that.
And this is the direction that the Left wants to go. This IS the slippery slope that we on the Right keep talking about – it isn’t about allowing gays have marriage, it is ALL about forcing us to be happy about it and have mandatory celebrations with them. Want to call yourself something you weren’t born with (or without, depending on what it is or isn’t….this gets SO confusing…..), this nitwit thinks that it should be mandatory for me to participate in this tomfoolery.
Sorry, (and I’ll be deliberately politically incorrect here) toots, not happening. See, I didn’t even skirt around the issue, did I (yes, a call out to Jennifer Horn). And again, try reading this gibberish and figure it out. As TMEW just said, who has the memory to keep all the straight? And who has the time to keep track of every little nuance and change in the vocabulary? Yup, I have better things to spend my time on. Fine for you but boring for me.
It isn’t “misgendering because I can”; it’s more that I don’t want to bother to play in your sandbox.
