I call them “Republican Republicans for the sake of the Republican Party”

Conservative Review had a good piece on the 3 types of Republicans that are in that cattle herd called Prez Wannabees (reformatted, emphasis mine):

  1. Change Agents
  2. Reformers
  3. Progressives

It was this last category that I read twice and went – yup, this is why we are in trouble.  The post gives a definition for each, the type of voters that are attracted to them, and which candidates are in each category.  It was the last category that really is important – as the innuendo is that these are the folks that allow others of us (and yes, I would be a voter in category #1 call them “Jr. Democrats” while professing their R bona fides.  After all, a Progressive (incremental Socialist) is a progressive no matter WHICH / WHAT party you have affixed yourself to:

3. Progressives

Description: These are the candidates who believe “you have to lose the primary to win the general election.” They see the issues in the party platform the conservative base cares the most about as needless distractions at best, or impeding the winning of elections at worst. They’re not having an existential debate with the Left, only one of dueling vested interests. Since they accept many of the Left’s worldview premises and are therefore progressives themselves, their big dispute with the Left is whether to empower corporations (their interests) or government (the Left’s interests).

The kind of voters they appeal to: Party loyalists whose credo is “a bad Republican is still better than a good Democrat.” Those who believe the conservative base has gone Colonel Kurtz. Voters that aren’t ideologically driven but driven by celebrity, polls, and “electability.” Progressives who want to see more public-private partnerships on implementing policy as opposed to the pure statism advocated by Obama.

Candidates in this category (in alphabetical order): Jeb Bush is the legacy pick here, since his family has represented this faction of the party for almost five decades…Chris Christie is already using the tried and true “we need both parties to work together” progressive GOP talking point…it’s self-explanatory why Lindsey Graham is here…John Kasich literally believes that God is a Marxist.

Question: how does one work with a Party that wants our complete destruction, that hates the Constitution, wanted to take God out of their Platform, believes that crushing unborn babies during organ harvesting is just dandy, that believes that Government should direct each and every jottle of our lives?  And never, EVER, will willingly assent to “compromise” THEIR values and ideology but believes that the only “good” Republicans are those that will stretch across the aisle, give up THEIR principles, and work to forward the Dems?

The question is whether or not the LIVs (Low Information Voters) on the Republican side will figure this out on their own.  I doubt it, especially those “Republican Republicans for the sake of the Republican Party”.  Yes, I have even heard some of these folks call much of what they see in the Democrats a “cult of personality” in supporting Obama no matter what he does.  Yet, they don’t seem to see that in this age of Obama, where even THEY admit that our country is at the precipice at tipping away from the country we were founded to be (and yes, many have already said that we are in the resulting free fall already), they just can’t see themselves doing the same thing at the Party level.  What is decreed must be followed – an action that is just mindlessness IMHO – something that an informed electorate should never do.  It is insufficient to just be able to spout one stand or another; each must be examined several layers downward to base principles and what are the actions / results from doing so?

Sadly, I don’t think enough people understand that it is NOT enough just to be actively involved in politics – what is need is understanding of what the ramifications are now and will be extending into the future.

And remember, here in NH, the scuttlebutt is that the Sununu Family is backing John Kasich – and that Chris Sununu, with his vote last time and HIS SILENCE! thus far this cycle, seems dandy with the Progressive mantra that tax monies MUST be used to kill and harvest babies and their organs. Not human themselves but their organs are??
