And if you look at the first few months of 2015, the violence doesn’t seem to be waning. What’s even more worrying is that this seems to be part of an ongoing trend that now goes back eight years. According to the Australia-based Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), global violence — as defined by a range of measures from conflict deaths, to displaced persons, to homicide rates — has been rising since 2007. This news is in many ways surprising because up to 2007, the data suggested the world was becoming a much safer place.”

Yeah, not the 2015 one – the 2007 one. Golly, what happened right around then? Yeah, the person who determined to transform America – and its place in it. He can’t blame Bush on this one (even though he and his sycophants are still trying – sorry, that rhetorical trick to make yourself the “outsider” doesn’t work after being the Ultimate Insider in DC and the guy who is supposed to be in charge.
Yup, Obama owns this historical record as he unilaterally (egads, Cowboy Diplomacy!) ended two wars (and is learning when just one side tries to redefine the word “End” when the other side is still voting with bullets and IEDs) decided to withdraw America from the world stage. And please note, his pique in now being ignored – His Narcissist hasn’t realized that if you have rebuffed your own country as being the world’s Shining City, then the rest of the world (especially its worst despots and dictators) will listen.
And yes, when the Big Stick and Ball are taken home, others who wish to cause bad mischief come out of their hidey-holes – and now OUR interests are at risk. Unintended consequence? From my standpoint, entirely understandable and predictable. And, I think, Obama knew this as well. Out of that warped outlook of “Privilege Theory”, it has been a determined action to take the US down more than a few pegs. Less stature, less standing, less influence; like it or not, the peace of Pax America has withered.
And not by accident.
