From the Union Leader, this snippet whose main thread drives Progressive / Liberals / Democrats nuts:
…The tax rate cut will allow businesses to keep $37.2 million they otherwise would have paid in taxes. That’s a positive development. We should look for more opportunities to let businesses keep more of their money so they can use it to expand, hire, invest or save.
But whenever Republicans propose cutting business taxes, Democrats usually portray the cuts as money taken from the government. It isn’t tax cuts “save businesses” x amount; it is tax cuts “cost government” x amount.
They (the Democrats) have an overbloated and overly developed sense that Government comes first – after all, people can’t do it right for themselves, Government must do it for them (ignoring the fact that these same people are seemingly adult enough to be earning the money that the Government is taking from in the first place). As I have already said earlier tonite, they just don’t trust the ordinary person to do the right thing or band together voluntarily to solve problems that are bigger than themselves. And with that lack of trust, the overblown disdain for those same people keeping their own fruits of their labor. Su peso es mi peso. Todos pesos. Ahora!
Even as they “say” they put people for, it is always an entire class or group of people – a collective. And of course, their sense of the primacy of Government, the uber-Collective shows through in those words – “but it will cost GOVERNMENT something!” and never truthfully and whole heartedly assent that it is the peoples’ money they are taking.
So, they have moved Government to “crowd out” the historical entities that did a lot of good in Civil Society with its own bloated bureaucracies as well as “capturing” many of those former charities with tax money (“Here it is; all you have to do is dance to my tunes to get it) while diminishing others (the on-going war against religious entities by Progressives) and individuals (“no, you cannot serve food to the homeless in the park yourself – follow our rules and pay our fees or we will arrest you!”).
Instead, it takes money from those that used to do for themselves in order to “help” those that used to do for themselves.
What a racket!
