Rep. Charlie Rangel, D-N.Y., is using alleged police brutality victims to raise money for a re-election campaign he promised not to run.

Rangel, the veteran Harlem congressman, barely eked out an electoral victory this year in part by vowing to retire in 2016.But citing the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner at the hands of police, Rangel earlier this month asked supporters to pony up for another electoral bid.
“The historical election of President Obama doesn’t mean the end of racism and injustice in America. It didn’t suddenly heal the wounds that have been left through the centuries of racial hatred and prejudice,” he emailed. “Whether it’s Eric Garner or Mike Brown, these unjustifiable deaths remind us that we’ve come a long, long way from how we got here, but we have a long way to go.”
The “Contribute” button at the bottom of the email links to a “Re-Elect Charlie Rangel” page for credit-card donations.
Supporters are encouraged to fill Rangel’s campaign coffers so they can “make a difference in this election.”
The Daily Signal has the fund raiser letter here. So, who here in NH did the same thing – PROMISED NH voters that he would be “one more and done”?
And then emulated Republican Bush 41 in his use of “No” as well as this Progressive Democrat did for re-election? Yes, that would be Charlie Bass. During his last successful campaign run in 2010? Yes, he PROMISED that just one more term, just one more shot, and he’d retire. Permanently.
Yeah, permanent only lasted two years. But he learned that when you PROMISE and then renege on it, you will get punished – he lost. He made that promise when (now NH GOP Chair) Jennifer Horn squired him around the State to every Conservative gathering possible in 2010 and I was at one of those. He had nothing to day when I called him out as being a Progressive, having been a recent Chair of the Main Street Republicans group – a self-avowed Progressive group started by his father, also self-avowed Progressive.
So, Progressives can be bipartisan (an evil of itself but for another post) but it shows that once addicted to Power, lying to the electorate is of no consequence to them. What did I say before – oh, pshaw, that’s old news and besides, I’ve “evolved” since then: you NEED me to direct your lives from DC.
Besides, it pays well and has great bennies, thanks to you taxpayers. Gee, isn’t that grand – in the case of Charlie R, he gets to tell people what to do, they get to pay for the privilege of having to him do so, and then he gets off scot-free when he doesn’t pay his taxes and cheats on his rent controlled apartments!
And yet, he’s part of that pack that believes that when a female says “No”, well then – “no is no”!
It’s just that “No” is not enough “NO” for him to listen to himself. Thanksfully, Charlie Bass had no way out in NOT listening to his voters’ “Hell, no!”. Maybe Rangel’s will send the same message.
