Jeanne Shaheen: FOR Keystone pipeline when Mary Landrieu (D) proposed it, not so much when GOP does

by

Jeanne Shaheen Wicked WitchYeah – nothing but a political flip-flop.  It’s isn’t about the country, it isn’t about the environment, it isn’t about oil for Americans, it isn’t about cooperation with one of our closest allies – it is ALL ABOUT THE POLITICS.  Plain, simple, easy – it IS for the Democrat Party and against the GOP.  How else do you explain her vote just now when the Senate just voted, 63-32, for cloture for the Keystone XL pipeline?  From the Blaze (reformatted, emphasis mine):

More than thirty Senate Democrats on Monday voted against the idea of starting work on a bill to approve the Keystone oil pipeline, even though no Democrats at all objected when a similar vote came up in November, when considering the bill was seen as a way to keep Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) in the Senate. The Senate voted 63-32 in favor of a motion to take up the bill, and every “no” vote came from a Democrat or an Independent.

With that vote, the Senate confirmed what everyone already knew — that back in November, Democrats didn’t object to the bill due to the purely political reason of trying to help a fellow Democrat who ended up losing her election anyway.

And then the post lists 32 Dems that swapped their “only for politics” votes – YEA when it was all about (now former) Senator Mary Landreau (D-LA) was running for re-election and NAY now.  But the only vote you need to know about is one: Jeanne Shaheen.  Nice to know that she put Mary Landreau above her constituents.
