GrokTALK! for 1/2/2015 – The Video

by

Per usual, Steve has had the entire show’s audio podcast up for a while; keep watching as he breaks it out to each segment and I’m betting there’ll be a few GrokSHOTS! outa this one as well.  In the mean time, here’s the video from the show and as you can see, a new format for a new year:

  • Segment 1: Right to the meat of things:
    • Legislative Update from the NH House from NH State Rep Guy Comtois – hijinks at play; are we seeing a stealth takeover by the Democrats from the Republican Majority running through the Democrat appointed Speaker Jasper ALREADY?  This will be a recurring segment on GrokTALK! this new year
    • Second Amendment Update from Grokster Susan Olsen – are the NH gun groups now presenting a united front on the gun bills moving through Concord?  Sacre bleu!

  • Segment 2: Brian Demyanovich comes in for an update. The short of it: having successfully sued NH GOP Chair Jennifer Horn (and husband) for not paying their $6K outstanding debt when he built the underground portion of their pool.  Now, years later, the pool decking (built by another vendor) collapses into the pool (decking not built to the right specification given the pool foundation??) and the Horns sue him for $65K.  Demyanovich answers his Interogatories (“questions” during discovery phase) – but the HORNS, guided by Hillsborough County Attorney Dennis Hogan, don’t bother to answer his?  Is this insane – you bring the suit and then you ignore his??  To this untrained and un-BAR’d mind, this says “Was this an action in which the Horns expected Demyanovich would fold and just pay up??  And in not answering any questions themselves, showed themselves to be bluffing?”  And though we’ll never know, what advice did Hogan give to not have them answer?
  • Segment 3: NH State Rep Max Abramson comes on to talk about his very public yanking (he found out that Democrat appointed Speaker Jasper removed him from his committee when the press called him).  He also talks about the criminal justice reform that may not see the light a day.  In both, and confirming what Guy Comtois mentioned, are experienced Republicans being replaced on vital committees with newbies such that the Democrats left in place will run roughshod over them? Is this an instance of Democrat puppet string pulling on their Democrat appointed Speaker Jasper so as to hinder the Republican agenda (at best) and let the Democrat one proceed?  After all, dominate the committees and you dominate the bills coming out of them – not NOT coming out of them.
  • Segment 4: We continue to talk about the ramifications.  Further updates coming in the future!
