Blogline of the Day: former US Senator and current Heritage Foundation President Jim DeMint

“It comes from the idea that Washington should fix everyone’s problems instead of freeing them to solve their own.”

With this, it skewers the idea that politicians should always be “Do Something!”; in fact, he (and all of us who belong to the Leave Us Alone Coalition) brings out the important insight that our Government was never meant to solve all ills and problems.  Frankly, when compared to the entirety of American Society, Government is both too slow, too blinkered, and too dumb to be able to keep up with the daily decisions, needs, and wants of 320 million citizens and residents.  It is impossible to do other than to force the usual Government “one size fits all” (as exemplified by the fiasco known as Michelle’s School Lunch fiat.

There is a reason why traditional American governance was local upward – Obama and the New Left Socialist Democrats have not forgotten that but actively reject that notion.  THEY are the anointed and Smart People that are above the rest of us – that instead of being elected to Govern, they are there to Rule.  And in Ruling, infantilize the rest of us.  Just ask Jeanne Shaheen, Annie Kuster, Maggie Hassan, and pretty much everyone here.

Let me add another adjective – they are also the Selfish People, believing only they entitled to decide for the rest of us.  And not us ourselves.  And in doing so, they bring nothing new to the table but certainly bring up the past as they seek to become the aristocracy and clerisy.

And we become the peasants of old.  You want that?  What are you gonna do about it?

The Bigger the Government, the smaller the citizen

Co-founder of GraniteGrok, my concern is around Individual Liberty and Freedom and how the Government is taking that away. As an evangelical Christian and Conservative with small "L" libertarian leanings, my fight is with Progressives forcing a collectivized, secular humanistic future upon us. As a TEA Party activist, citizen journalist, and pundit!, my goal is to use the New Media to advance the radical notions of America's Founders back into our culture.
