On the news that a town councilor in the UK proclaiming that “the suicide of a former soldier and game hunter was the ‘best use of a gun I can think of’”, these comments from Nick Leghorn:
The current game plan of gun control activists in the United States isn’t to ban guns through legislation — instead, their strategy is to make guns socially unacceptable. It’s the reason why they’re going after retail stores to bully convince them to ban guns. It’s why they harp on “concealed carry killers,” and make every effort to brand gun owners as redneck idiots and racists. They don’t need to win the battle in the legislature if they can win the culture war by ostracizing gun owners in their communities.
What we see in Woodward’s rant is the final result of that cultural conditioning: no compassion whatsoever. The blind belief that all gun owners are murderous maniacs and idiots. And since they are all murderers, their lives don’t matter. They would all be better off dead. Its a pretty short hop from “these gun owners should kill themselves” to “lets help them kill themselves” to “how about you jump into that cattle car?” I don’t believe that we should be killing people or wishing them harm based on their political beliefs. I guess Mr. Woodward doesn’t agree.
