Jeanne Shaheen is blowing off Latinos – and she doesn’t have to care

by

Jeanne Shaheen Wicked WitchThis is funny!  Hysterical even!  Doesn’t Arturo Carmona know where Jeanne Shaheen lives??  Yeah, New Hampshire.  Which means:

  • White alone, percent, 2013 (a) – 94.2%
  • Hispanic or Latino, percent, 2013 (b) – 3.2%

So why am I chuckling?  This (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Senate Election 2014: New Hampshire Sen. Jeanne Shaheen Criticized for ‘Appearing Anti-Immigrant,‘ Missing Senate Hearings

…”In siding with Senator Cruz, Senator Shaheen has relayed the message that she is willing to throw Latinos and other immigrant communities under the bus for votes,” said Presente Action Executive Director Arturo Carmona, in a statement to Latin Post.  According to Carmona, Shaheen re-election bid has made her evaluate political efforts to “appear more socially conservative and anti-immigrant.”

We have voting power and we’re going to use it in the upcoming elections to

illustrate that we will not support political candidates who continue to stand in the way of executive action and the continued suffering of 11 million people. Utilizing the Latino population as a means for political gain cannot be tolerated,” Carmona said.

Well, of COURSE she is appearing to be more socially conservative”;  it is the same old story with politicians on both sides of the aisle.  There are some that absolutely will run as the people they are and the ideology they are – Jeanne Shaheen isn’t one of those people.  She knows that if she was brutally honest, she’d most likely lose.  She has acted as if Government should be in charge of every decision – her campaign words try to make her sound like the grandmother type the visual is.  So of COURSE she runs to the middle – she has no choice.

But as far as illegal alien immigration goes, there is no downside for her in NH in “…throw Latinos and other immigrant communities under the bus for votes” – there isn’t enough of them here to make a difference.  This is not California, Florida, or New York.  Carmona can say whatever he wants – but he doesn’t have the numbers here to make his words believable.
