CNHT Annual Picnic – Old Home Day for NH Conservative / Libertarian activists – Intro Ceremonies

The 16th Annual Coalition of NH Taxpayers (CNHT.org) was held yesterday in Hillsborough at the VFW Hall American Legion Post 59 (update H/T to Dennis Hamel; apologies for the screw up!).  From around 11am until late in the afternoon, conservative activists from all over the State amassed to talk to long term friends, meet new ones, talk with the various groups on the Right that come to promote their causes, and to hear (some) of the politicians that have come to make their case for their votes and, in some cases, appeal to them in ways that would cause them to join their campaigns.

Sidenote – every year, it is clear that folks that are running for the first time have spent time on their speeches, trying to sound like they possess either gravitas or other reasons as to why they are running, only to reach the podium to realize “how come they are not LISTENING!!!”.  To be sure, some are and for some of the “podium standers”, all ears are focused.  But every year, there are those that learn the hard lesson that is reflected in the title – it is all about Old Home Day for activists to sit, stand and otherwise yak with friends that “serve together” but rarely get to see each other in person (or, in clumps of people).  No disrespect ever meant (mostly – I can think of one yesterday) – it’s just the way it is.

ANYways, Rich Girard (from GirardAtLarge.com) served as Master of Ceremonies for the day and started things off:

Many thanks to TMEW for watching over the GraniteGrok “recording camera”.  We did lose a couple of folks’s speeches from internal malfunctions (it is getting old) but we have another 30+ videos to post up – and that doesn’t include the interviews we did on the livestream!)

Co-founder of GraniteGrok, my concern is around Individual Liberty and Freedom and how the Government is taking that away. As an evangelical Christian and Conservative with small "L" libertarian leanings, my fight is with Progressives forcing a collectivized, secular humanistic future upon us. As a TEA Party activist, citizen journalist, and pundit!, my goal is to use the New Media to advance the radical notions of America's Founders back into our culture.
