“The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works — whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified.”   – President Barack Obama, Inauguration, 1/20/09

rocket engineSo here’s where “works” comes into play:

So to revisit, here’s our current space strategy:

  • Step one: Rely on Russian rockets.
  • Step two: Put in place sanctions that get Russian rockets cut off, forcing reliance on American commercial launchers.
  • Step three: Put the squeeze on American commercial launchers.

A man-made crisis with national consequences?   How can unreal can it be when Obama “fix” is in when the question “but whether it works ” have a predetermined outcome of “Of COURSE not”??   And yes, it is his problem since NASA is part of his Executive Branch and not to Congress.

How can this NOT be Determined Weakness for the US in both civilian and military space missions as China is quickly showing its muscle?  This all can’t be just chalked up to incompetence, right?
