This is like the inflation rate – it seems stable but since the Federal government removed gas prices and food prices, it presents a picture to ordinary Americans that things are better than what they really are.
A true measure of unemployment is not the U3 rate but the U6 rate with includes those that are underemployed (e.g., those with college degrees that work at MacDonald’s) or have just plain given up and despair of ever seeing employment. This is why you see us posting charges like this or of the Labor Rate Percentage – truer metrics of the Obama legacy of “fundamentally transforming” our economic system further from a free market system to one that is more and more Socialistic: top-down, command-and-control, overregulated and enhancing the tentacles of Crony Capitalism.
After all – he doesn’t trust us to do right by ourselves. Only he and his Administration can and should make those decision.
