Working for DEC and for my present company, I’ve flown a lot of miles in the Friendly Skies of United (close to 3/4 of a million). It got to the point that *I* could have given the safety speech that is given before the plane leaves terra firma. For the most part, it was the same old “crap, I gotta say this again??” delivery – to the point that I once said “gave” it to a co-worker next to me, word for word, in time with attendant at the front of the plane. She didn’t hear me but the one doing the demo was some unhappy with me – at one point I thought I was going to have a buckle accessory melded to my glasses.
Boring doesn’t beGIN to describe it after the first few hundred times – but they gotta say it while we’re supposed to listen. Well, if they ALL made a comedy routine out of it like Marty Cobb of Southwest, everyone would!
