Yeah, me too. Never thought that I would be quoting former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg:

But we cannot afford for our elected officials to put their own futures ahead of the next generation’s and to continue perpetuating a labor-electoral complex that is undermining our collective future. We need them to look ahead and to address the needs of tomorrow instead of being prisoners to the labor contracts of yesterday.
Simply put, our pension and health-care system must be modernized to be sustained.

But he is right: labor-electoral complex. The unholy alliance that is the public service unions that elect candidates who then become their bosses – and are also bound to those same unions for re-elections. A continuous circle that does not include the general public in this special interest group pairing.
Frankly, I judge it more insidious and dangerous than the military-industrial complex.
