I just don’t understand how the IOC decided to add this one final event to the Winter Olympics – nation invading! Or was it that have the attention of the world focused on Sochi just wasn’t big enough for Putin? Today we are seeing that Russian Spetsnatz and other troops coptered / jetted into the Crimea as the Ukraine was throwing off Putin’s puppet.
During the 2008 election, Sarah Palin was roundly criticized by the Left for this:
“After the Russian Army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama’s reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia’s Putin to invade Ukraine next,” Palin told Foreign Policy in 2008, “
And reminded people of it again:
“Yes, I could see this one from Alaska. I’m usually not one to Told-Ya-So, but I did, despite my accurate prediction being derided as ‘an extremely far-fetched scenario’ by the ‘high-brow’ Foreign Policy magazine,” she wrote. “Here’s what this ‘stupid’ ‘insipid woman’ predicted back in 2008.”
And again in 2012 during the Presidential Debate, Romney knew what was right – and Obama was wrong. This is what the New York Times had back then:
“President Obama criticized Mitt Romney’s inconsistent statements about foreign policy concerning Russia, Iraq and Afghanistan.”

This is what happens when you hollow out the American military, handcuff the American economy, try to shred its Constitution, and demoralizing its people for all of the bad actors of the world to see. Good people knew better than you and you mocked them for it. But that’s all part of your Determined Weakness ™, right? Leading from behind – creating a power vacuum. “we will stand with the international community” only means “I decree that the US has abdicated it leadership role”.
Oh wait! You were backing the mullahs in Iran when the Iranians were protesting for freedom. You heartily had a bromance with Hugo Chavez, el jefe de Socialisma. You supported the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. And now, words from you to Putin that kinda sum up the real message: troops? other country? Ukraine? worry what the US is going to do?
