What would the Declaration of Independence Signers think of today?

by

From Gallup: not so much

Declaration Signers ThoughtsI think that they would be amazed at the riches and the power that “these United States” have risen to and delight in the technological progress that their genius in providing for a Government structure that allowed the Citizenry to have the freedom to follow their instincts, their hunches, and the innate striving for better that would have them risk everything for the possible rewards of success.

That freedom of independence to strive to be one’s best is now being smothered by a sense that Government is not to protect our precious Liberty but to provide mere security to all – a system of “social justice” the ensures equality at the least common denominator.  Instead of a system that reward success, it takes from the successful.

Their vision was for a limited Government.  Given the scandals of Government that have been revealed over the last few weeks, they would be reaching for pitchforks, tar, and torches to march on DC – for the vast and intrusiveness would be abhorrent to them today.

Who knows – perhaps they’d be reaching for some of those “assault weapons” the our modern day politicans wish to keep from us.

Is this a Day of Independence, or now a day when we realize that the sense of Independence has been taken from us by those that try to Govern by bribing us?

(H/T: Big Government )
