Well, look what the cat drugged in.
You know, if AARP actually did what they say they did, I’d have no problem. But I am betting that most of the senior citizen (Yo, Steve, get ready to start getting their snail mail spam!) have no CLUE that AARP sold them out years ago. Oh sure, they make all the right mewlings at the right time, but trust me, the only advocacy that have in my opinion is themselves.
Remember, Medicare lost $700 million and the Advantage program that many seniors a) will need in the future and b) “Rent – Seeked” as with the wind down of the Advantage program, AARP will make MILLIONS. And all that time, their representatives were only willing to “educate” – I kept asking their representatives when ever I met them and I was told “Sorry, I am not authorized to discuss that with you”. Supervisors said the same thing, and up the chain. Great message discipline, but that alone said much about what they didn’t want to be known.
But, being an “Obama ally”, do you think that they will be called to account for “windfall profits” (“non-profit” status aside)? Actually, I’m wrong about being an Obama ally – you are where the Progressive sun don’t shine.
Do me a favor – take me off your email and snail mail lists – your emails get trashed immediately and the snail mail gets round filed as soon as it gets picked up.
Advocacy for seniors? Naw, just another profit making business by government rent-seeking, for all intents that I can see.
