I get a lot of email. A ton of email. Sometimes, more than what I can deal with even after I’ve set up rules and folders for people, groups, and issues to make it easier to prioritize which gets read first (e.g., TMEW over the Groksters – a rather obvious choice, wouldn’t you agree?). Even with that, some emails get lost.
Here’s one, thankfully, that I did catch with an unsettling question:
This morning I read the story, in Sunday’s Union Leader, about the Fla. pet-rescue. More power to Miami-Dade County, being an animal lover finding homes for unwanted pets is a noble cause. Then I read the second article in the same paper, pain-capable babies. Something is wrong when as a society we put more emphases on protecting animals then protecting unborn babies, humans! How did we get to this point?
Indeed. Look, I love animals, especially my two dogs who are both rescue dogs; they may have had a rough time but no longer. But a higher value than a human? Even an unborn human?
No.
