Portsmouth NH Lawyer Says “Let’s Socialize The Gun Industry”

Terrie Harman, Democrat, a New Castle resident and  lawyer in Portsmouth, has an opinion letter published at Seacoast online today that is quite a winner.

Let’s nationalize the gun and ammunition industries. Those industries look for bottom-line profits. So, of course, they will advocate for sales of guns to teachers, to janitors, to cafeteria workers, to students, to anyone. A gun sold is a dollar made.

Imagine that.   A Democrat who is a lawyer wanting to socialize the gun industry.

Harman’s reason?  Our children are dead.  So the industry has to be nationalized cuz that’ll fix er.  Really?

Does Terrie Harman know about all the foster kids the government is in charge of (states in particular) that get abused or killed every year?  I bet it’s a much larger number than gun deaths.

One commenter on the article itself copied Harman’s entire letter and replaced “Gun and ammunition” industries with “auto and fuel industries. ”  It fits quite nicely, and since motor vehicles have been the number one killer of Americans aged 3 – 23 for going on a decade, maybe the feds ought to just take over those union shops and run them like the US post office.

There’s also the question of why Harman is so down on the New Hampshire State Government.  What’s the big rush to nationalize.  You don’t think your own New Hampshire citizens can manage their own gun business right here in the Granite State?  We have several successful manufacturers paying lots of taxes into the state and local coffers.  New Hampshire has a very low crime rate, including violent crimes, and there are people walking around with loaded guns at every turn.

Since you are a tax attorney, do you think the feds, the ones with the 16 trillion dollar deficit and rising, would keep the tax dollars for themselves if they nationalized the gun industry or would they just let us keep them?

Is this the part where I say that Terrie wants to deny kids access to Head Start. or is trying to keep contraceptives from young women, or food from the mouths of the children of single moms and struggling families?  Don’t forget about how robbing us of that revenue will add names to the mental health waiting list.

Harman is, as I said, a Democrat, but also a patron of lost causes.  Terrie donated to both Bill Bradley for President and Paul Hodes for Senate–that money for Hodes was $1000.00 dollars well spent, eh Terrie?

Terrie is also (or was) the principal for a Non-Profit called the Portsmouth Men’s Chorus.  In 2008 this organization culled almost $167,000.00 dollars in donations   That’s mighty impressive.  And a Tax attorney running a successful ‘non-profit’ who promotes socializing the means of production is not at all ironic.

You know what is really funny.  History is replete with governments that have socialized themselves.  They are, coincidentally, the most violent governments in history, responsible for mass misery, poverty, crime, oppression, and death.

But yeah, let’s nationalize the gun industry so the Government has control off all the guns.  Great idea.
