Data Point – 400 vs the bottom 50%

Interesting – in 2009:

So, the bottom 50% earn over a Trillion, pays $19.5 Billion in income tax

The top 400 earners (just 400), earn $81 Billion, pays $16.1 Billion in income tax.

Effective rate for 400: 19.8%

Effective rate for bottom 50%: 2%

So, who is paying their Fair Share?

******

Interesting – from the NetRoots Nation foray, in the “SWAG bag” was a red (No, this red has NOTHING to do with Republicans) squeeze ball (as in “stress reliever”) that had FairShareTour.com.

So, what’s your guess – you think that these 400 folks are paying their fair share of income taxes according to these folks?

You would be correct!  Notice the “We’re not broke” at the end – In the grand tradition of the Left where the mantra is “What’s mine is mine and your’s is mine too!”, the Congressional Progressive Caucus sees everyone with a bank account as an ATM.  Think I’m kidding?  Look at the budget they proposed that would “solve” the deficit.

Drunken sailors couldn’t spend faster and pickpockets couldn’t swipe wallets faster.  Cutting spending?  Why should we – lots of people and companies have lots of money (still)!

It’s interesting to see where some of this SWAG will lead.

My question – is it far that some get to “free ride the carpet”?  Is that good public policy to have folks that are not “invested” in how our government actually acquires its money?
