Top action item this week on the RLCNH Report is to stop Obamacare implementation here in New Hampshire:

STOP OBAMACARE NOW!One main feature of Obamacare is the requirement that each state setup health exchanges. These exchanges are the meat and potatoes of Obamacare—and it includes a total takeover of the health insurance market by the federal government. Regardless of whether a state adopts a state exchange or defaults to a federal exchange, all decisions will be made in Washington and the state will lose all authority over its health insurance markets.
This week, there are two opposing efforts in the House and in the Senate. The House is considering HB 1297, which will prohibit the state of New Hampshire from planning, creating, or participating in a state health care exchange or a federal health care exchange as required by Obamacare. The Senate, on the other hand, is voting on SB 163, which will actually create a state-level health benefit exchange and fully implement Obamacare in New Hampshire—handing away our sovereignty and sticking New Hampshire taxpayers with the bill. TAKE ACTION:
- E-mail ALL Senators and ask them to OPPOSE SB 163 and instead support HB 1297.
- Come testify in favor of HB 1297 at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2012 in the House Commerce Committee hearing room, LOB 302. Urge the committee to support the bill in person.
- E-mail the House Commerce Committee and ask them to vote OTP on HB 1297.
Also in the report: protecting parental rights, nullifying No Child Left Behind, removing barriers to NH businesses, allowing jury nullification, removing judicial authority to legislate from the bench, and repealing public sector unions.
